Oral Presentation Instructions

 

1. You will have a 10 minutes time slot for your presentation and 5 minutes to answer questions from the audience. Invited speakers will have 30 minutes including questions from the audience. There’s a strict time schedule and the chairman will carefully keep track of this. The session room will be equipped with computer projector. Any other audio-visual requests must be made as soon as possible and no later than 3th September. A technical assistant will be on hand for equipment operation.
You can find the session in which your presentation is scheduled at the website of the congress. Please make your presence known to one of the chairmen before your session starts and be present during the entire session in which your presentation is scheduled.

2. Presentations should be prepared as a PowerPoint file to run on an PC compatible with Microsoft Office 2003. This program will run PowerPoint 2003 and all previous versions of PowerPoint. Save file as a normal PowerPoint file (.ppt). Do not save file as a PowerPoint Show (.pps) file.

3. All presentations must run on the Windows operating system. Congress computers will run on Windows XP. If at all possible, please create your presentation on the same version of Windows or at least test it on Windows XP before submitting it. Otherwise errors may occur in your presentation at the congress.

4. Presentations must be submitted in advance of the congress by September 20th. Email your presentation to:

Name your PowerPoint file with your last name and the day and time of the presentation (available in the Program).

5. Congress organisers will load all presentations on congress computers. Presenters will NOT be allowed to use their own laptop computers (except in special cases: please contact Barbro Ingemarsson, barbro.ingemarsson@expertradet.se ). MacIntosh computers will NOT be available.

6. Bring one copy of your presentation to the congress on a CD-ROM or USB media storage device and provide it at the reception desk of the congress labelled “Speaker Corner”- no later than 1 hour prior to the start of the morning session on the day of your talk. This copy is to be used as a backup if needed. Make sure the CD-ROM or presentation file is also labelled with your last name and the day and time of the presentation.

7. Try to keep the content of your slides as simple as possible and, their appearance simple and as consistent as possible. Simple and effective graphics will enhance the presentation. The wording should be large and as legible as possible.
